Privacy policy

Last updated

This policy explains what information FigureSure ("we") collects when you use this website, how it is used, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at [email protected].

Calculator inputs

Calculations run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type into a calculator are not sent to our servers unless you choose to save a calculation to your account. Your inputs appear in the page address (URL) so that you can copy, share or bookmark your results. We remember your unit and currency preference in your browser's local storage; you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

Accounts and saved calculations

An account is optional. If you create one we store your email address, the name you give (if any), your unit and currency preferences, and the calculations you choose to save (the calculator, a title, the inputs in the page address and a one-line summary of the result). Your password is never stored: we keep only a salted, one-way hash of it. To keep you signed in we set two essential cookies: bm_session, which holds a random session identifier, and bm_auth, which only says that you are signed in so pages know to load your account. Neither is used for advertising or tracking, and both are removed when you sign out. For each active sign-in we record when it started and was last used and your browser's user-agent string, so you can review and sign out devices on your account page.

We send account emails only for verifying your address and resetting your password. You can delete your account at any time from your account page; this removes your profile, sessions and saved calculations immediately.

Sharing

The share buttons open the chosen service (for example WhatsApp, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, Telegram or your email app) with a link to the page. Nothing is sent to those services until you choose one, and what happens next is governed by their own privacy policies.

Usage statistics

To learn which features people use, the site counts anonymous events such as "a calculator was used", "a result was shared" or "a PDF was downloaded". These counts include the event name, the calculator page and a few non-personal details (for example the share method). They do not include your inputs, IP address, account or any cookie identifier. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, these events are not sent.

Contact form and feedback

When you use the contact form we receive the name, email address and message you submit, and use them only to reply to you. When you use the "Was this helpful?" widget we receive your answer, any comment you write, and the page it was sent from. To limit spam we store a one-way hashed version of your IP address for a short time; we cannot recover your IP address from it. We keep messages only as long as needed to respond and improve the site, and you can ask us to delete them.

This site is funded by advertising, including Google AdSense.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

Hosting and security
